My name is Julie Kopina, I live in Crestline, Ohio. I got my first rabbit when I was about 9 years old for my first year in 4H in the North Robinson Robinettes group, he was a steel Jr. buck Dutch.
My next rabbits were Mini lops Steel Buck and a Broken Black. My Sisters had holland lops and flemish giants. But unfortunately, all of out rabbits either died or we gave them away, we tired breeding them but none of the breedings would ever take. =( So we got out the rabbits, but later years passed to 2007 and we joined the North Robinson Blue Ribbons 4H group. That got me back into rabbits I got 2 holland lops a doe solid tort, and a buck broken tort, I took them to the county fair and won 3rd (see awards page for picture or trophy), they died during the winter. It was very frustrating but I kept going the following year, I got a Californian Doe for market class, finally I had my first litter of babies =) all died =( so I bred her again my 2nd litter three of the babies lived for about a week=) but then they died=(. Then she came down with what I thought was a case of the snuffles but fortunately it was just allergies to a change of wood shavings.phew. But I sold her at the county fair, and got a English Lop Doe but she died during the winter =(. But I wasnt giving up, I then got another Californian Doe on Friday the 13th (bad day to get a rabbit) and she got really sick so I exchanged her for my adorable dutch(pictured above). And I got 2 New Zealand Does, that had 2 litters of babies with 21 kits altogether but only 12 made it, but the good news is that now currently I have my dutch and all the new zealand bunnies at the county fair for 2009 for the market and breed class. 07-20-09
